Mercedes Justine Kaestner-Varnado is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE as a member of the SmackDown brand under the ring name Sasha Banks, where she is one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions with Naomi in their first reign as a team and Banks’ record-tying third reign overall. Kaestner-Varnado started her career in 2007, debuting for Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) on March 20 under the name Mercedes Kaos. She also wrestled for Ring of Honor from 2009 to 2010, where she was best known for her time in its women’s division, feuding with current ROH World Champion Jay Lethal. In 2012, Kaestner-Varnado made her debut for WWE NXT, becoming a fan favorite before being called up to the main roster later that year.
