A Texas woman has been charged with capital murder after allegedly drowning her family member’s 4-year-old child during an attempted baptism. Authorities arrested 39-year-old Nakia, who was entrusted with watching the children while their mother was away in Indiana.

According to law enforcement officials, the mother had left her children in Nakia’s care while she was out of state. Reports indicate that the woman attempted to baptize multiple children in the bathtub, submerging them underwater. Tragically, the youngest, identified as Klover, was held underwater until she drowned.
The child’s siblings, who were present during the horrifying event, provided detailed accounts of what transpired. They revealed that Nakia had first applied what she called “blessing oil” on Klover before forcing her into the tub. As the child struggled to break free, clawing at the woman’s hands and pulling her hair, Nakia allegedly continued to hold her down. When one of the siblings tried to intervene, they were reportedly pushed away.

Witnesses reported that Nakia justified her actions by claiming she had a divine vision instructing her to cleanse the children’s souls. She allegedly warned them that they would “burn in Hell” if they resisted or spoke out about the incident.
