According to a new report, Pillman’s contract expired and was not renewed. He has since left the company.
Pillman debuted with AEW while still signed to MLW at Double or Nothing 2019, after running on the indies and with MLW.
Pillman worked more AEW dates while MLW took time off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, usually as The Varsity Blonds. He signed a full-time AEW deal on July 12, 2021, but it expired today.
AEW House Rules live event on May 13 saw Pillman and Brock Anderson lose to The Gunns.

In his last AEW TV appearance, he and Anderson defeated Cezar Bononi and Ryan Nemeth at the Dark tapings on March 24. As of February 3, 2022, Pillman lost to Swerve Strickland on Rampage and as of August 17, 2022, he and Garrison lost to The Gunns on Dynamite’s House of The Dragon episode.
