Recent developments within WWE’s “The Judgment Day” faction have raised questions about potential changes to its lineup. The faction, known for its dominance on Monday Night Raw, comprises Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, Damian Priest, and Finn Balor, each holding various titles and pursuing championship ambitions.
On the August 14th edition of Raw, tensions within the group became evident during a main event match where Cody Rhodes defeated Finn Balor. Miscommunication among “The Judgment Day” members played a role in Balor’s loss. However, after the match, a surprising turn of events occurred when JD McDonagh, a close friend of Balor, intervened to assist the faction in an attack on Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn.
Over the past month, internal issues have plagued the group, particularly involving Balor and Priest, both vying for the World Heavyweight Title. Balor has expressed his belief that Priest’s actions cost him championship opportunities.
In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer disclosed that there is a plan to remove Damian Priest from “The Judgment Day.” While JD McDonagh’s inclusion in the group is not confirmed, it is considered a probable scenario.

However, it’s important to note that plans in professional wrestling can evolve, and the timing of such changes remains uncertain. Damian Priest was part of the original lineup of “The Judgment Day,” formed by Edge following WrestleMania 38 in 2022. The faction expanded with the additions of Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor, and Dominik Mysterio in subsequent months.
Rumors have circulated for several months about JD McDonagh potentially aligning with “The Judgment Day” due to his close association with Finn Balor. McDonagh was drafted to Raw earlier this year during the WWE Draft.
While “The Judgment Day” continues to exert its influence on Raw, it’s worth noting that Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio also maintain a presence on NXT, with Dominik holding the NXT North American Title. A mixed tag team match featuring Rhea Ripley and “Dirty” Dom against the team of Dragon Lee and Lyra Valkyria has been officially announced for NXT Heatwave on Tuesday, August 22nd.
