The Miz Credits Top WWE Star For Showing Him How To Main Event

The Miz has had a successful and lengthy career with many main events. He initially had trouble adapting to WWE‘s style but eventually re-figured it out to be a top superstar. The Miz credits Shawn Michaels for teaching him the tricks of the trade.

“[John] Cena is a wealth of knowledge and he’s more than willing to hand it out if you’re willing to listen,” Miz explained. “Cena has taught me a lot in WWE and entertainment.”
“It was a teaching moment for me … It showed me what it takes to be a main event caliber superstar and I’m very thankful for those moments because it allowed me to have the confidence I have today in those abilities.”

John Cena and The Miz have fought three times on Pay-Per-View. Most notably, during their match at WrestleMania 27 when Miz walked away as the victor. The other two matches took place at The Bash in 2009 and Over the Limit in 2011, a triple threat steel cage match that saw Cena retain his WWE Championship 21 days before in a victory over Miz.

Miz has won the WWE Championship twice and the United States Championship twice tying Chris Jericho’s record of nine WWE Championships and also won the Tag Team Championships with five different partners.

In 2018, Cena wrestled in a match against Reigns during SummerSlam and came up short. Cena’s anniversary of being with WWE is approaching and it will be celebrated at the next Raw show. In the 20 years that he was with WWE, Cena won four tag team championships, five United States Championships, and 16 world title reigns.
