Dominik Mysterio will defend the NXT North American Championship tonight, and his father will be on the side of his opponent.
On tonight’s NXT show, Dragon Lee will face Dominik for the North American title. Rey Mysterio will be on Lee’s side. Rhea Ripley will be in the ring with Dominik to help him beat Rey.
Since Dominik took the NXT North American Championship from Wes Lee last month, this is his fourth time defending it.
Mustafa Ali and Axiom both want to be next in line to fight Dominik or Lee. On tonight’s show, Ali and Axiom will play a singles match.

Axiom was beaten by Mustafa Ali.
After a clever heel move, Ali was able to pin Axiom. Ali looks like the next person to fight for the North American Championship after he won. Great way to start the show, and a great way to open the show.
The game featured a lot of awesome moments. Along with some great high points and some scary low points, there are also some clever counters and reversals. Ali has been acting like a quiet heel for a few weeks, but in this match, he took it up a notch.
Ali and Axiom are fighting on the turnbuckles right before the finish. Ali grabs Axiom’s mask. Ali acts like he just grabbed the mask by accident. Ali then shoves Axiom off the turnbuckles, whether by accident or not.
Ali rolls Axiom back into the ring after pushing him off the turnbuckles. He covers Ali for the pinfall after he performs a 450-foot Axiom.

Ali looked into a camera and made a commercial in which he said that he would be the next person to fight for the North American title.
The Schism were sneaking around backstage looking for the Creed Brothers, and several wrestlers say they struck them. Joe Gacy promises that Schism will find the Creeds tonight, or they will turn NXT “upside down.”
Kelani Jordan lost to Blair Davenport.
After giving Jordan the Bea-trigger, Davenport pinned him. After Jordan called out Davenport on social media, this fight was set up. This was partly at the request of Dana Brooke, who told Jordan she needed to push someone to find her killer instinct.

Dana Brooke came in after the match and chased Davenport around and through the ring while swinging a leather belt. Davenport ran away from the beating. Then Brooke almost hit Jordan with the belt, but she stopped just in time.
The country whipping fight would start if Brooke attempted to whip Davenport with a belt like she would on a Southern wrestling show. I don’t know what it means in NXT, but a strap match seems possible. We can only guess, of course.
Tyler Bate beat Noam Dar (along with Oro Mensah, Jakara Jackson, and Lash Legend) to win the “Heritage Cup” prize that belonged to Dar.
Nathan Frazier is the one who should have the Heritage Cup, but Dar has been carrying around a copy of it. In this match, what was at stake was a copy of the cup.
In the first round of this fight, neither person got a fall. Bate goes up by a fall after going far in the first fall. After giving a Tyler Driver ’97, Bate got a pinfall.
After an ad break, the third fall picked up where it left off. After the break, the show will start again in less than 30 seconds. The third round ended with a double down and a near fall at the bell. Both were selling down when Bate put his arm on Dar for a count as time was running out. Dar was saved by the bell, just like the famous fighter AC Slater.
In the fourth round, Dar aims for a leg. Bate tries to keep going as long as possible and not tap out, but Dar has him in a knee bar. With about 40 seconds left on the clock, Bate gives up. Then Dar wouldn’t let go, so the judge had to step in to break them apart. Still, Dar won round four by submission, so going into the fifth and final round, the score is 1-1.
Mensah got in the way a few times, most recently at the end of the fifth round. In the last few seconds, Bate and Dar trade near falls. Dar stopped a Tyler Driver ’97 that was going to happen, and Dar held Bate. Bate then put Dar’s shoulders on the mat for a three count by turning the cradle around.
So far, there has been a lot of fighting, but don’t worry. This changes when a lot of talking parts come in.
Tank Ledger and Hank Walker are backstage when The Dyad and Schism come up to talk to them. Schism then jumped Ledger and Walker because they didn’t know where the Creeds were.
McKenzie Mitchell has a talk with Ilja Dragunov. Dragunov says he’s going to the ring, where he hopes Trick Williams will meet him.
A match between Wes Lee and Dijak was set up by a skit in the locker room. They both want to fight for the NXT Championship against Carmelo Hayes. Lee got jumped by Dijak, which sets up a clear grudge match.
Ilja Dragunov calls out Trick Williams, and Trick Williams goes into the ring to face Ilja Dragunov. They joke around with each other, and it took a long time for them to play each other. It looks like Williams will play Dragunov at the Heat Wave special in two weeks.
McKenzie Mitchell is having a talk with Charlie Dempsey and Drew Gulak. Tonight, Dempsey and Gulk were meant to play a match against Walker and Ledger. However, Schism beat them. Damon Kemp comes along and wants to fight Dempsey and Gulak. People laugh at him because he doesn’t have a partner. Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen walk in, which sets up a fight between Dempsey and Gulak.
A scared In a skit that happens backstage, Thea Hail meets Rey Mysterio. Andre Chase and Duke Hudson then meet Hail. Hail makes fun of Chase and leaves.
With the help of Mr. Stone, Bron Breaker beat Von Wagner.
Breakker put Wagner down with a spear, but after the fight, Wagner powerbombed Breakker on the announcer’s desk. Gorilla Monsoon probably would have called this the meeting of the uncontrollable force and the unmovable object. It was a hoss fight for sure.
Wagner’s new trick is that he throws people through tables, just like he did in the past few weeks when he threw people through the announcer’s desk. Wagner wore a T-shirt that advertised the new trick.
After the bell, Breaker went to press slam Mr. Stone. Wagner saved the day, and then he powerbombed Breaker on the announce desk, which caused it to fall over.
In his ongoing fight with Dijak, Eddy Thorpe was the center of a great vignette that showed his Native American roots.
Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, who were with Fallon Henley, lost to Charlie Dempsey and Drew Gulak, who were with Myles Borne.
After Damon Kemp got in the way from the outside, Dempsey pinned Jensen.
Myles Borne was on the side of Dempsey and Gulak as their second. Gulak asked Borne for water at one point, but Borne said he didn’t bring any. So, Gulak told Borne to leave the seating area and kicked Borne out.
Just before the end, Damon Kemp ran down to the ring. Jensen was on the floor when Kemp did a dropkick on him. Kemp then rolled Jensen back into the ring. With a Dragon suplex, Dempsey got the winning pinfall.
Dana Brooke and Kelani Jordan are doing a skit in the locker room that sets up Brooke’s match next week against Blair Davenport.
Ivy Nile lost to Kiana James.
James won the match by pinning Nile. Nile is sidetracked by Ava, which lets James finish him off.
There is an ad break during the match. When the break is over, members of Schism who are wearing masks surround the ring as if it were an impromptu lumberjack fight.
Nile was attacked by the Schism, which was led by Joe Gacy, Ava, and The Dyad. She is grabbed by force and questioned about where the Creeds are. Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Tatum, who are the NXT Tag Team Champions, come running in. As they clear the ring, they swing crowbars. Schism had a confrontation with the new tag champs earlier in the show, which set up them saving Nile.
Los Lotharios are trying to make up with each other by texting. They are both thinking about what their grandpa, El Ninja Mario Segura, would think.
Noam Dar is in a skit with Nathan Frazier and Tyler Bate that takes place backstage. Bate makes a deal to give up the copy of the cup he won tonight. Bate gives it back to Dar as long as Dar says it’s not real. Dar did that in a sort of way, but not really. This makes it possible for Frazier and Dar to fight at Heat Wave for the real cup. So, the match between Bate and Dar that happened earlier tonight is now pointless. I appreciate that.
McKenzie Mitchell talks to Tiffany Stratton, who is the NXT Women’s Champion. This silly piece was a waste of Stratton’s return to TV.
Dominik Mysterio, who was the NXT North American Champion, beat Dragon Lee, with one who was backed by WWE World Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, to keep his title.
After Rhea Ripley hit Dragon Lee with a belt shot, Dominik pinned him to win the match. Rey took the North American belt away from Dom when he tried to cheat by using it as a weapon. Instead, Ripley hit Dragon Lee with her belt, which made Lee lose the match. After the match, the show ended with a storyline.
Before the match, Rey Mysterio was the first one in the ring. He brought out Dragon Lee. That made Dragon Lee seem more unique. Still, Dragon Lee lost in the end, but it was because someone else got in the way. A advertising break happens during the match itself.
As Dom took off Dragon Lee’s mask, he teased him about it. That made Dragon Lee angry, so he fought back against Dom. Dragon Lee almost fell a few times as a result.
In the last few seconds, they trade blows. Dom goes for a 619 and a frog smash. Dragon Lee puts his knees up to block the splash. Lee almost falls again after a Liger bomb.
Ripley gave Dom his title belt, which Dom seems to use as a weapon by picking it up. Dom’s North American belt is taken by Rey Mysyerio. The judge misses Ripley hitting Lee with her title belt because he is too busy watching Dom and Rey fight. Dom then did a Michinoku Driver, and Dom covered Dragon Lee for the winning pinfall.
After the fight, when Rey and Dom are facing each other, Ripley steps in between them to get in Rey’s face. Ripley pokes Rey, which makes Lyra Valkyria come out and jump Ripley. Earlier in the show, there was a skit in which Valkyria talked to Ripley. She gets into a fight with Ripley while Dragon Lee gives Dom a superkick. As Dragon Lee and Valkyria stand tall in the ring, the heels run away. Is this going to result in a mixed tag?
