As WWE keeps building up to the SummerSlam premium live event in 2023, wrestling fans are now more interested in what will happen after the event and what the rest of the year holds for the company’s top performers.
Roman Reigns is still WWE’s top champion, Ronda Rousey is going out on her own, and Bobby Lashley’s new stable is making waves, so the plots and characters for the rest of the year are really exciting.
Here are three things that WWE fans can be sure will happen for the rest of 2023.
Roman Reigns Wins the Title at the End of the Year
Roman Reigns has been king for more than a thousand days, so it’s almost certain that him losing the title will be the biggest story of the year. The trouble is that he won’t lose the belt until 2024, not 2023.

No matter if the challenger is Cody Rhodes, Carmelo Hayes, or someone else who hasn’t been named yet, Reigns will likely keep his gold for the rest of the year and only lose it at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.
The Bloodline’s storyline still has too much to tell to take the title away from the winner just yet. He has a match against Jey Uso at SummerSlam, and he still has to face Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in one-on-one matches.
Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, or another top star will finally win the Royal Rumble and probably be the one to dethrone the champion. However, that won’t happen until he has completely dominated the second half of 2023 just as he has the first.
The rule of Reigns will go on for a long time.
Ronda Rousey is again the champion.
Ronda Rousey’s schedule has been all over the place since she joined WWE. Bad storylines and injuries have made it hard to book her. She is too big of a star not to be shown more on TV, though, and by the end of the year, she will be the women’s champion on either Raw or SmackDown.

Rousey’s current plot with her friend Shayna Baszler has been great so far. It shows how well the former UFC champion can sell a fight when she believes in what she’s saying. The MMA star is back on the right track now that he has a clear character and believable attitude.
Rousey should rise back up the ranks of the women’s division after beating Baszler and then beat Asuka at the Survivor Series.
Rousey would not only have the star power the company needs to get through the slow time between Christmas and New Year’s, but she would also help build the title’s credibility and set up a long-term plot for WrestleMania.

Both Raw and SmackDown’s women’s divisions have been booked poorly so far this year, but Rousey has the skills in the ring and behind the mic, as well as the star power, to put the division on her back and take it through the rest of 2023.
Gold is held by Lashley and Street Profits
The last time Bobby Lashley held the world title, it was fun to watch, but he deserves so much more. The hope is that both he and the Street Profits will gain from his joining them.
By the end of 2023, Lashley should be the main roster singles champion, and the Street Profits should be the tag team winners.
Lashley has shown over and over again that he is the best team player. He has done well in every story and fight he has been given, and he has been a great character in the right shows. He didn’t have the world title for long enough, and the company needs to fix that.
The Street Profits are also very talented and are still one of the most famous acts in the company, but they aren’t in the spotlight because their stories and characters aren’t as developed. If Lashley takes care of them, the new trio could be unstoppable on any brand they play on.
On the surface, the three men look like a spin-off of Hurt Business. However, they really need each other right now, and working together should help them make gold by Christmas.
