Brian Gewirtz, who used to be a writer for WWE, said that no one knew about John Cena’s bad shot at The Rock during a scene when they were fighting.
The fight between Rock and John Cena from 2011 to 2013 was one of the best in WWE that decade. Both men were at their best when they were trying to outdo each other, with gripping stories and exciting ads.
Gewirtz talked about a segment on Monday Night RAW where John Cena poked fun at The Rock by showing a custom-made ‘I Bring It via Satellite’ t-shirt that he said no one backstage knew about.
“During the whole Rock-Cena deal where Cena came out and did not tell me or really anyone that he had made up a ‘I Bring It via Satellite’ t-shirt that he unveiled live on the air and then was nice enough to roll it into a ball and just fling it in my face as hard as he could when he got back through the curtain while I’m sitting there on headset. But that was kind of like the, hey, we’re in a war/shoot/whatever. You gotta do what you gotta do to stay alive,” Gewirtz said.

One of The Rock’s many catchphrases was “I Bring It,” which was also printed on official Rock t-shirts. Cena wore a custom-made T-shirt that said “I Bring It via Satellite.” This was a jab at The Rock, since most of his parts of the fight were taped ahead of time.
This was one of the many things that made their feud stand out.
