The new NXT Tag Team Champions are Tony D’Angelo and Stacks.
At the Great American Bash on Sunday, D’Angeo and Stacks beat Gallus to win the titles for the first time. Gallus tried to get the referee’s attention during the finish so that Wolfgang could use a weapon on Stacks. But D’Angleo saved the day when Wolfgang covered up. In the end, D’Angleo used a wrench to knock out Joe Koffey, and then he and Wolfgang finished off Wolfgang together to win the match.
D’Angelo, Stacks, and Gallus have been in a plot for months in which D’Angelo was put in jail for reasons that were never made clear. Both Stacks and D’Angelo thought that Gallus was the one who told on D’Angelo. Then, they came up with a plan where Stacks would try to betray D’Angelo to trick Gallus into giving Stacks a match. If Stacks won, they would get a tag title match and D’Angelo would be let out of jail. If they lost, D’Angelo would stay in jail until he went to court. In the end, Stacks won the match, which got D’Angelo out of jail.
