A former WWE superstar has passed away. While his time with the promotion was brief, he gained the admiration of viewers and performers.
According to his brother Jason, Nathan Blodgett, aka Jaysin Strife in wrestling, passed away on December 30, 2022 after a long and intense battle with his health throughout the year. He disclosed before his death that he had lost a considerable amount of weight and had several surgeries. It is unclear how he died.
“Various infections and extremely advanced vasculitis” were weakening Jaysin Strife’s body, according to a bone marrow biopsy he had done earlier this year. In the middle of the year, the inflammation worsened, and doctors found an aneurysm that was about to burst.
At the Omaha Wrestling Association, Strife trained under Hype Gotti and Jayden Draigo. After making his debut in late 2003 and working in various independent promotions, he established Magnum Pro Wrestling six years later. Although Jaysin Strife became a promoter, he continued to wrestle in the ring occasionally.
The Iowan-born superstar was also a member of top companies such as All-Elite Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment. Akira Tozawa was his first opponent on 205 Live in 2018, and he made his first appearance on WWE RAW in 2014 as a soldier. In November 2021, Jaysin Strife fought Powerhouse Hobbs for three minutes in an episode of AEW Dark.
At Below Zero Wrestling, Nathan Blodgett defeated Bobby Brennan in March 2022, his last appearance inside the ring. Before his untimely death, he held the AIWF World Wrestling Championship and Magnum Pro Championships. He held the IWA Mid-South Light Heavyweight Title for 447 days in 2010-11.
