According to a statement released by the Oakland Police Department (OPD) on March 6, 2025, the abduction occurred on March 4 around 3:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of 98th Avenue. The victim, an unidentified Black woman, was reportedly targeted by an assailant who attempted to hit her with a vehicle. Upon exiting the car, the suspect physically assaulted the woman, inflicting severe injuries before forcibly shoving her into the vehicle against her will. As she screamed for help, nearby drivers continued on their way, failing to intervene. The suspect then drove westbound on 98th Avenue, disappearing to an unknown location.
Video Footage Offers Disturbing Insights
Authorities released a brief 25-second clip showing the moment of the abduction. In the footage, a car stops in front of a house, where normal vehicular traffic continues undisturbed. A man emerges from the car, forcefully grabs the woman, and forces her into the passenger seat. Within seconds, the vehicle speeds away, leaving behind only unanswered cries for help.
