WWE‘s 2022 Crown Jewel event is a pay-per-view and livestreaming event for wrestling that takes place in two divisions, the Raw and Smackdown brands.
The Crown Jewel event will take place at Mrsool Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, November 5th, 2022. It is the second time WWE has held an event there after the inaugural Crown Jewel in 2018. This stadium changed its name to Mrsool Park in 2020 and is the 8th time WWE has held an event there under a 10-year partnership with Saudi Vision 2030.
The WWE events will consist of matches with structured storylines and scripted events, where the wrestlers portray heroes, villains, or less distinguishable characters. Results are predetermined by WWE’s writers on the Raw and SmackDown brands and stories concocted by WWE’s weekly television shows have been known to result in a number of different types of matches.
After Roman Reigns appeared on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive, the social media influencer then trash-talked Reigns. This led to a social media exchange and Paul appearing on SmackDown with The Bloodline. At a press conference, WWE announced that Reigns would defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Paul, marking Paul’s third match in WWE.
