On January 1, 2023, WWE will hold the second annual Day 1 Professional Wrestling Pay-Per-View and Livestreaming event for wrestlers from their Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. The event, called the 2023 Day 1, schedules to take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Background
On January 1, 2022, WWE held a New Year’s Day event titled “Day 1” at the “State Farm Arena” in Atlanta, Georgia. On July 29, 2022, it was decided that “Day 1” would take place again at the same venue on January 1, 2023. Since then, it has been the annual New Year’s Eve party for WWE. In addition to broadcasting on traditional pay-per-view worldwide throughout the year and being available to livestream on Peacock in America and the WWE Network internationally, “Day 1” will also feature wrestlers from both Raw and SmackDown brands.
Storylines
The event will include matches where wrestlers are introduced to the audience, portray heroes, villains and less distinguishable characters through stories written by WWE’s writers. The results of these matches are decided by WWE’s Raw and SmackDown brands,while storylines are created on WWE’s weekly television shows, Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown.
