There’s a new report that WWE Day 1, which was slated to take place in January of 2023, is cancelled. According to an article from Mondayscrawler.com, multiple sources reveal that the New Year’s show has been scrapped and won’t be rescheduled. As you can imagine, this will have a huge impact on middle of the year Pay Per Views as there would be no weekend Show scheduled between Survivor Series and Royal Rumble in 2023.

The reason for the cancellation is unknown, but Thurston notes that December 31st would go head-to-head against the NFL’s final Sunday Night Football game of the regular season. December 29th, which would be a Saturday, would conflict with other sports and is New Year’s Eve. WWE was reportedly considering changing the date earlier this month in order to hold the event.
As of now, the State Farm Arena in Atlanta is still showing the PPV on their schedule. September 23rd was their ticket on-sale date, but it then got delayed because of a potential date change. Dave Meltzer reports that tickets went on sale on September 23rd despite the delay.
