WWE Fastlane is a professional wrestling event hosted by WWE. The event was a live broadcast and was available exclusively through pay-per-view (PPV). Streaming services on the internet, Peacock, and the WWE Network are also available. The event began in 2015 and later replaced Elimination Chamber in the February slot on WWE’s calendar for pay-per-view. Elimination Chamber was pushed into May of the same year. The event’s title was about its place on the “Road to WrestleMania.” Which held for two months between the Royal Rumble and WWE’s flagship event.
WWE Fastlane History
WWE first hosted Fastlane in February 2015 in Memphis, Tennessee, and it was live broadcast via pay-per-view (PPV) and on the WWE Network. For the year 2015, Fastlane was replaced by the Elimination Chamber. It was held in February from 2010 to 2014. The Elimination Chamber for 2015 was held in May. Elimination Chamber was scheduled for May.
The event was revived in February, 2016 and established Fastlane to be an annually scheduled PPV to promote the event. The year 2017 saw Fastlane moved back until March to accommodate Elimination Chamber returning to its place in February. Which resulted in Fastlane being the first non-WrestleMania-themed event in March. The 2017 event was exclusively Raw-themed in the wake of the return in mid-2016. WWE branding extension in the middle of 2016, when the company divided its roster into brands that only featured wrestlers.
The 2018 event was designated a SmackDown-only PPV; however, it was the last SmackDown-exclusive PPV and WWE’s last brand-exclusive PPV after WrestleMania 34 in that year, the brand-exclusive PPVs ended. In 2020, Fastlane was removed from the schedule to permit WWE to host the Super ShowDown PPV. In the end, Fastlane was reinstated in 2021. Due to the COVID-19 virus, the 2021 event was held within WWE’s bio-secure bubble known as The WWE ThunderDome, hosted at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. This was also the very first WWE event to be broadcast through the Peacock’s WWE Network channel within the United States.

Fastlane 2020 results in Reigns winning against Bryan after Edge makes his mark in all-out chaos. Edge had made his appearance feel huge when Roman Reigns kept his Universal Title in a wild fight with Daniel Bryan.
Eight matches were played during the show, and one of them was during the Kickoff pre-show. Roman Reigns defeated Daniel Bryan to retain the Universal Championship with Edge as the special guest enforcer in the main fight.
When will WWE Fastlane 2022 be held?
In October 2021, WWE unveiled its PPV calendar for 2022. Fastlane was not listed. Although there was an event to be announced for February. Which was scheduled to take place on the 17th of January in 2022. The event was announced as the Elimination Chamber. Fastlane was later canceled without any formal announcement.
