WE’s Money in the Bank premium live event will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on July 2. It’s one of WWE‘s most renowned tournaments, and it promises to shake up the title picture in the coming months.
At the tournament, eight men and eight women will compete in Money in the Bank ladder matches. The battles come to a close when one of the competitors climbs a ladder and claims the Money in the Bank bag, which includes a contract granting the winner a title chance at any time in the following year. Since the match’s inception, the contract has resulted in several memorable title wins and historic moments
The event will also feature many title fights, including Ronda Rousey defending the SmackDown women’s championship against Natalya in a contest pitting two of the best submission experts against each other.
Let’s take a look at what we know about WWE Money in the Bank, as well as what we expect.
WWE Money in the Bank matches
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match:
Rollins was able to secure his position by defeating AJ Styles. McIntyre and Sheamus fought to a double disqualification in a SmackDown qualifier, but both men were given spots. On Raw, Omos defeated Riddle in a qualifying match. There are still four spots available, but the winner of an upcoming bout between Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn has been named as the winner of one of them.
Seth Rollins was the first to qualify for this bout, and he is currently the favorite to win. To claim the briefcase and rub it in the face of the man who was the show’s face before Rollins threw him out. It’d be almost too good to be true. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus have also confirmed their participation.
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match:
Regardless of who wins the two women’s matches listed above, one of them could still leave MITB without a title. Of course, this ladder match must take place before they defend their title. In the past, a MITB winner has cashed in on a champion and claimed their title before the end of the night, and this might happen again.
Alexa Bliss, Lacey Evans, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez are the only women’s qualifiers so far. Morgan appears to be the most likely of the three to win the deal. While this may appear to be wishful thinking, WWE does not appear to be fully behind Bliss and is unsure what to do with Evans. Morgan has a strong foundation and a loyal fanbase, and she is deserving of a major win.
Raw Women’s Championship — Bianca Belair (c) vs. Carmella:
Bianca Belair has reclaimed a title from Becky Lynch and, at least for the time being, looks to have shaken The Man. When you’re champion, though, there’s always a target on your back, and Rhea Ripley is currently focusing on that target.
This isn’t the first time Ripley and Belair have fought, and it certainly won’t be the last. These two have the potential to be the next Lynch and Charlotte Flair. For the next half-decade or longer, put on instant classics. Ripley is the only one who can win this fight in their conflict. She’s riding a wave of popularity right now, and winning this match would be a dream come true.
SmackDown Women’s Championship — Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Natalya:
In WWE, there are a few wrestlers who can break glass if necessary. One of them is Natalya, and that looks to be the case here. According to reports, Ronda Rousey’s opponent in this battle was going to be Sasha Banks. Nattie has been selected to step in for The Boss, who is still missing.
WWE makes a habit of having replacements win matches like this one, defying the trend to show that match results aren’t always predictable. This isn’t going to be one of those times. WWE has to make Rousey feel special again, and while Natalya will undoubtedly give her a fantastic bout, she will not be the next woman to defeat The Rowdy One.
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship — The Usos (c) vs. The Street Profits:
The Usos successfully unified the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles by defeating RKBro after weeks of buildup. Since then, no one has really presented a challenge to them, much like their Unified World Champion relative Roman Reigns. That is, until The Street Profits come up to the bat with Money in the Bank.
Street Profits were heavily involved in The Usos and RKBro’s rivalry, so it’s only natural that they’d be the Unified Champions’ first rivals now that Randy Orton is no longer in the scene. However, it’s unlikely that Jimmy and Jey will relinquish their titles at the first opportunity
United States Championship — Theory (c) vs. Bobby Lashley:
Theory and Lashley have been feuding, with posedown competitions on Raw as part of it. During one posedown, Theory sprayed baby oil in Lashley’s eyes, prompting Lashley to attack Theory the next week. The belt would be awarded to Lashley if he could defeat three men in one night, which he did by defeating Chad Gable, Otis, and then Theory.
