The upcoming Money in the Bank 2022 ladder matches for the WWE is going to have different participants this time, as determined on the Smackdown episode.
On the June 24 episode of SmackDown, Sami Zayn captured a qualifying win over Shinsuke Nakamura with a Helluva Kick from the top rope. It was Zayn’s first win of the year and a huge celebration on social media ensued.
As a result, Zayn will be participating in the Money in the Bank 2022 ladder match for a third time after competing in 2016 and 2017.
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus had both been included in the MITB match lineup last week after their qualifying match ended with a double DQ. This week, WWE official Adam Pearce stated that they would not be part of this particular MITB match.
They got one last shot to return to the match and face off against The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, The Usos, in a non-title tag team showdown.
Then in the main event, Drew and Sheamus defeated The Usos to qualify for their Men’s Money In The Bank 2022 Ladder Match. Dillon flattened Jimmy Uso with his Claymore Kick to secure the win.
Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, and Sami Zayn are now part of the Raw Superstars competing in the Ladder match at Wrestlemania.
From the women’s division, Shotzi (Tamina) will head to the 2022 Money in The Bank 2022 ladder match on Smackdown last night. Shotzi (Tamina) qualified for this week’s show.
When Tamina was initially scheduled for a match with Aliyah, the latter then had an injury. So, Tania was in the game instead with Shotsy but she lost when she lost to the Never Wake Up DDT from Shotsy.
Thus, the mysterious woman known as “Shotzi” will make her Money In The Bank ladder match debut at the next month’s premium live event. She is joining other well-known women such as Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Asuka as the sixth participants of the women’s version of the 2022 ladder match.
The Money In The Bank Premium Live Event takes place on July 2 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. After SmackDown, the card for the event stands as follows:
Raw Women’s Championship
Bianca Belair (c) vs. Carmella
Smackdown Women’s Championship

Despite their lengthy resumes, the Money In The Bank 2022 participants represent different styles of wrestling. An example is Lacey Evans coming from a promotion with a distant past and never having to wrestle in front of crowds. Even though she had experienced on the independent circuit, as a ring general that was experienced as opposed to someone who has been competing all her life like Asuka.
