The show starts with some talk about how great tonight’s show will be.
The Grayson Waller Effect could be hosted by Grayson Waller.
He talks about praising Edge’s career and says he’s sure the Rated R Superstar will thank him for bringing him back into the spotlight. But that’s enough about Edge for the night, because Santos Escobar and the newly crowned United States Champion Rey Mysterio are his guests tonight.
Waller congratulates Mysterio on his win, and Rey says it’s great to be United States Champion again. Grayson pokes fun at Escobar by saying that he can only imagine how that feels. Waller asks if they are co-champions when Mysterio says that Austin Theory came up with a plan that they both wrecked.

Rey says that they are not co-champions and that what counts is that the title is with the Latino World Order. Grayson tries to make them fight, but Santos cuts him off and says that the only person he’s mad at is that lowlife worthless Austin Theory, and he has nothing but love for his legend, friend, and mentor Rey Mysterio.
He knows what Waller is up to, but because they are related, it won’t work. Austin got what he deserved, and when he’s all better—
Austin Theory walks in with a mic in his hand and a look like he can’t go to the bathroom.
He tells Rey that being a three-time United States Champion is a great accomplishment, but it’s not the same as being named Father of the Year. He says that what happened last week was a tragedy and that Escobar and his damn leg weren’t manly enough to take on the best US Champion.
He tells Adam Pearce to come to the stage and fix things, and Pearce does. He says he knew he would get kicked out, but no one wants to hear him complain tonight.

Come along LA Knight.
He asks if Austin Theory just said that he was the best United States Champion of all time, and if so, he says that Austin Theory dropped the ball. He has an idea, and he tells Rey how happy he is that she won. He also says that no matter who wins, it will come to him someday.
Theory says he’s the best, but at SummerSlam, he beat a lot of other guys. Both of them are dressed to fight, so how about Knight vs. Theory, with a shot at the United States Championship on the line?

Adam thinks about it while the crowd cheers, and then he makes it official, for now.
…or maybe after we take a break.
When the commercial break is over, the Miz comes out to be at ringside before the match can start.
Austin Theory vs. LA Knight (WWE #1 Contender’s Match for the US Championship)
Theory pushing Knight into the corner with elbows and kicks, Miz comes into the box just as Austin hits a fallaway slam. Off the ropes, a front kick, and LA comes back with a snap scoop powerslam for two. Theory got into a fight with him and hit his face against the wall. They went back inside and then back outside. Now, LA keeps hitting Austin’s face into the announcer’s desk.
Knight gives in to Miz’s yapping, and Theory meets him with boots. But LA overpowers Theory and takes back control, throwing Austin right into the A-Lister as we go to break.
Back from the break, Knight does a sunset flip for two. Theory responds with a rolling thunder dropkick and a big lariat, and LA stops the tide with a spinning back suplex. Clubbing hits into the corner, throwing him back and forth into the turnbuckles, jumping neckbreaker, ducking a lariat, and a side Russian legsweep!
Kicking off the ropes, covering for two, kicking in the corner to set up a running knee. After asking for a big body slam, Austin gets hit with a DDT. The A-Lister is chased around the ring and back into it, where he is clotheslined to the floor by LA.
From behind the scenes…
Austin Theory wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin and a handful of tights. He is now the number one challenger for the WWE United States Championship.
We see a video package of John Cena, Sheamus, Natalya, the Miz, Charlotte Flair, and Sami Zayn praising Edge on 25 years and thanking him, and then we go to break.
As soon as the commercial break is over, we see a clip of baby Edge asking Bret Hart how to break into the business on some kind of talk show, and it turns out to be a whole package of old videos.
Damage CTRL comes out, Bayley says a lot about IYO SKY, and then we take a break.
After the break, we hear that Kayla Braxton is going to talk to Paul Heyman later to find out why Bloodline broke up.
Damage CTRL (Bayley and IYO SKY) vs. Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair
Belair and Bayley start the match. Bianca takes Bayley down with a waistlock, a side headlock, and a shoulder block in the corner. The EST then throws Bianca out with a suplex. Tag to Flair and Damage CTRL temporarily put her on her own, but Charlotte lays into SKY and kicks her off the ring. Damage CTRL is taken out by a cannonball senton off the bench, and we take a break.
Back from commercial, Flair fights out of a side headlock, whips to the corner, STO backbreaker into a reverse STO in the turnbuckles, but Bayley quickly gets back up and hits a military press slam out of the corner for two! SKY tags in, and La Mistica does a crossface, but Charlotte fights to her feet and throws her away.
When she was trying to get the tag, IYO cut her off, underhooked her, and gave her a big back body drop. The way was clear, but SKY cut the tag. After some back and forth, Bianca comes in and cleans up. Handspring moonsault, IYO with a dropkick to the knee, Bayley legal, holding onto Belair’s hair, but the EST drops both of them at the same time!
After some chaos, Flair comes in and does a fallaway slam, a handspring into a lariat, and then… NOPE! Out and back in, Bayley gets a nearfall by pulling Charlotte over, tag, SKY does a moonsault off the top rope, but no one is home. Rock Flair charges in with a Shotei, but Charlotte moves out of the way, and Bayley tags back in.
Bayley tried to get a figure-four leglock, but it was stopped. Belair came in and put him in a backbreaker rack.
Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair win by pinfall when Belair knocks out Bayley with a kick to the head.
We get another package with names like Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, Becky Lynch, Rey Mysterio, and Kurt Angle congratulating Edge on 25 years.
Street Profits come on, and then we take a break.
Bianca Belair is being interviewed when Damage CTRL attacks and beats her down before she can say anything.
They give her leg the Pillman treatment, and when Kenn Doane comes, he finally sends them away while the EST screams in pain.
Street Profits (“Machine Gun” Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) vs. Good Brothers (“Machine Gun” Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows)
Good Brothers hot on Ford to start, quick tags, and a boot for two. Tide turns, Dawkins comes in, and he throws Anderson into the corner. Karl fights back with chops, but Angelo hits a cradle Olympic Slam and Drill Bit. Montez comes in, there’s a frog splash, and then GALLOWS BREAK IT UP!
The Club’s back suplex neckbreaker gets two, which sets Dawkins up for the Magic Killer, which he stops. Luke gets hit with an enzuigiri, a lariat knocks him down, and a tope con giro comes next. Karl is set up by Ford…
Karl Anderson is pinned by a Sky High and a neckbreaker from Street Profits.
The Profits stand tall on the stage, and Bobby Lashley comes out to applaud them on their win. They raise their hands.
Backstage, we see a thoughtful Paul Heyman, and then we go to a break.
After the break, we see a video package about what’s been going on in the Bloodline story recently.
Kayla Braxton talks to Paul Heyman behind the scenes.
He won’t tell her anything new about the Bloodline or Roman Reigns’ state of mind. He laughs at the idea that she’ll attack him over stories and yells at her for a long time before taking a call that seems to have good news but ends too soon.
Jimmy Uso will appear on SmackDown live next week, he claims, and this information is a spoiler. However, he won’t reveal where he received it.
Sheamus comes out, and then we take a break.
Sheamus takes on Edge
Edge beats Sheamus with his elbows and collar. They lock up again, and this time the Celtic Warrior gets a side headlock on Sheamus. The Rated R Superstar is left looking off into the distance by the Irish Curse as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Edge-O-Matic does a nearfall and falls to the floor. He then does a powerbomb, which hurts Sheamus, who keeps crab-clawing his hand. Back inside, Sheamus hits Edgecator with a tilt-a-whirl slam for two after Edgecator stopped his diving crossbody with upkicks.
Beats of the Bodhran was stopped on the ring apron, and Edge beat up the Celtic Warrior with punches. They fall down, and we take a break.
Sheamus brings in the cloverleaf and sits on it in the middle of the ring when the ad break is over. Edge turns around and does an arm-trap crossface on Celtic Warrior. Celtic Warrior crawls for the ropes and reaches for the break. Put your boots in the corner, kill the cat, put Sheamus on top, and give Edge a boot!
In a fight for the top spot, Edge does a superplex and then an Impaler… NOT ENOUGH! More fighting in the turnbuckles, Sheamus gets under him, and then… WHITE NOISE! Bringing him up, High Cross… STILL NO! Followed by the beats of the Bodhran, Edge is stubborn and gets another round of clubs with a bird.
When Sheamus beats him down, Edge hits him with a big lariat, and he gets angry! Waiting… THE KNEE BLOCKED THE SPEAR! KICK THE BROGUE! SOMEHOW, EDGE KICKS OUT! Edge dodges a second Brogue, schoolboy for two, he’s in position… SHEAMUS KICKS OUT OF THE SPEAR!
Both men stood side by side and charged at each other…
Edge wins by using the spear to take down the opponent.
After the game, they hug.
So, folks, that’s the show.
