SummerSlam 2022 was historic. The first WWE pay-per-view without Vince McMahon at the helm, and was the first to feature Paul “Triple H” Levesque as the head of creative control. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns had a historic clash – though the true fate of their rivalry is left in the air.

The main event of the show was a match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. The match consisted of a variety of insanities including a giant tractor tipping over the ring and Paul Heyman taking a (huge) bump. The more craziness in the match, the more it satisfied expectations.

Roman Reigns won two matches in one night and he has been Universal Champion for 700 days, which is a very long time. Drew McIntyre also had a good night even though he didn’t wrestle at Summerslam.

Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar

Using a Last Man Standing match, they were able to overcome Brock Lesnar and retain his title.

Lesnar walked down the ramp, put on his farmer’s clothes, and climbed into a tractor. He used the tractor to jump off the back of it onto his opponent – awesome scenes!

Lesnar and Reigns begin brawling, hitting the crowd and parts of the stadium staging. Lesnar distracts an opponent, who tries to throw a Samoan drop on him but ends up smashing him through a table in the process.

Liv Morgan retains SmackDown Women’s Championship

Ronda Rousey mauled Liv Morgan and she is still the champion.

In the match, Morgan connected with Rousey, but Rousey’s shoulders were pinned to the mat. Just before three seconds were up, Morgan tapped out. However, the referee did not see it and called a false win for Morgan.

Rousey made short work of Liv, putting her onto the ground early with a huge kick and then using leverage to move her arm in ways she couldn’t escape. When Liv was close to the ropes, Rousey let up momentarily.

Ronda Rousey slammed her opponent with a Judo throw which led to their controversial finish. After the match, she attacked Liv Morgan again and put her in another arm-bar after the referee disagreed. She then flipped over the referee and armbarred him too. It was awesome!

Riddle and Seth Rollins brawl

A match between Riddle and Rollins was cancelled due to an injury, but Riddle interrupted the show to demand that they fight.

After the match, Rollins apologized for attacking Riddle backstage.

The fight was unfair because Rollins was able to inflict more damage on an injured Riddle.

The Usos defeated The Street Profits

At the end of a wrestling match, Michael Cole called The Usos the best tag team in WWE history, and there was reason for that because they have consistently been on top.

The match was good, but the crowd wasn’t super into it. It could be that most people didn’t buy that The Street Profits would win. Jeff Jarrett as special guest referee was also out of place — he didn’t really end up being a factor, yet the wrestlers kept angrily reacting to his counts and ref decisions. Many viewers probably expected him to do something controversial, but that never happened.

What will happen next is unknown. Montez Ford is certainly a powerful player and appears to be on the verge of defeating Dawkins. The announcer commented on Ford’s changed physical appearance, with his pumped muscles and said that Dawkins himself had spoken about getting in shape because he was falling behind.

Pat McAfee defeated Happy Corbin

Pat McAfee is a professional athlete who has been playing football for years. He faced Happy Corbin in the ring, his second match with the WWE.

McAfee made a move that would have given him the upper hand, but Corbin pushed him off, and McAfee landed on his feet.

Corbin then appeared on the outside and laid McAfee out on the announcer’s table. The crowd seemed unhappy with the move and started to chant “Michael Cole.” This was a huge surprise because up until now, Corbin had been booing Michael Cole.

The Mysterious beat the Judgement Day after Edge returned

The first thing that needs to be said about Rey Mysterio and Dominik Red’s match against Finn Balor and Damian Priest was the rules were not clear. It was a no disqualification tag team match, yet both teams adhered to tag rules, helpfully waiting on the apron to be tagged in. Rhea Ripley paced around on the outside, interfering only once despite having free reign to help her team.

Edge was back after Judgement Day returned, and he made a dramatic entrance. He appeared out of a flaming platform on the ramp, spearing Balor with a devastating blow.

Rey then pinned Balor with a splash. Edge helped Mysterio.

WWE had a good matchup on Monday night; the Mysterios got early offense and Judgement Day picked up momentum, but Rey Mysterio eventually got the hot tag. He didn’t wrestle against Balor long enough to have a significant impact.

Bobby Lashley retains US Championship

Bobby Lashley defeated Theory to retain his u. s. Championship. Theory came bent on nice heat: The fans don’t like Theory, that could be a credit to any or all the trouble WWE has place into creating a star of him.

When police officer Lashley was motion on the turnbuckle before the match, Theory raped him with the money within the Bank case. The official asked Lashley if he wished to continue with the match, and Lashley heroically rebuffed him. Theory beat down Lashley, however it wasn’t long before Lashley battery-powered back with an enormous suplex.

Logan Paul defeated The Miz

Logan Paul won a long match after being accompanied by his partners

The first three-quarters of this match was just OK. We know that Logan Paul is a good athlete with a knack for pro wrestling so it comes as no surprise that he has the impressive offence and superstar poise but the problem is that The Miz was not able to get the height of their performance due to Miz being not strong enough in comparison.

Ciampa tried to interfere but was caught by the ref. He then got up, ready to fight. At that point, AJ Styles music started and he crashed Ciampa through the crowd.

Bayley returns at SummerSlam

Charlotte wrestles with being champion

Bayley made her triumphant return to SmackDown after Bianca Belair defeated Becky Lynch. Therefore, Kai’s music hit and she walked down the ramp trash talking Bayley; then the third debut of the night happened as Io Shirai’s music hit.
