Yet another familiar face was in Nashville this week. WWE held SummerSlam Tryout Sessions, as announced weeks before. As previously announced, Big E would be making an appearance at the tryouts.
Big E will be making one final appearance in WWE when the company holds tryouts for the next round of performers for SummerSlam in Nashville.
During the SummerSlam Tryout Event, there was a Q & A session with Paul Heyman as Roman Reigns’ Special Counsel. It appeared that Heyman expected a lot from the crowd of tryouts, telling them to make plans for their career and become known by their name and not their nickname or number.
Throughout his time in the WWE, Paul Heyman has helped build multiple talents into stars. While Punk was on the long road to becoming a star by going through WWE’s developmental system and being pushed to a third brand, ECW (even without much success), Heyman advocated for Punk to be moved up from WWE’s development system, OVW, to their main brand, WWE. When Punk eventually found success in the eight years he spent in the company by forming an alliance with Heyman, he became one of the company’s biggest stars.
Paul Heyman was the “Raw” General Manager in WWE and during his time there one superstar saw an increase in their career. Zelina Vega became more prominent as a manager for Andrade, Angel, and Theory during the pandemic era. This was because of Paul Heyman.
Heyman first introduced Lesnar to WWE as a champion under his managerial tenure in 2002. Lesnar had previously served as Heyman’s assistant before Heyman helped Lesnar achieve power in the ring; helping him return back to WWE as the main event.
