The Competitors Revealed
At the WWE Night of Champions, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Damian Priest, The Miz, Cody Rhodes, and Shinsuke Nakamura will battle it out with Edge, AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory, Rey Mysterio, and Sheamus. Two triple-threat matches will happen on each show in order to decide which wrestlers make it through to the grand finale. Whoever prevails in their second match will be crowned WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
We still don’t know who will be taking part in the triple threat matches, but one of the 12 men will become the first holder of WWE’s newest title. Rhodes, Rollins, and Balor have all commented on their interest in the title and come to this with victories from WWE Backlash. Additionally, Edge, Styles, and Mysterio have all been World champions in the past and bring a wealth of experience.
Despite Paul Heyman’s teases, Roman Reigns will not participate in the tournament and will instead defend his own Undisputed WWE Universal Championships at the upcoming premium live event instead.
