Arn Anderson is known for his legendary wrestling career and recent work with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and is currently focusing primarily on mentoring his son Brock Anderson as he begins his journey in wrestling the world of Brock’s recent joining of AEW. In a recent episode of the “ARN” podcast, Arn mentioned that perhaps the WWE development brand of NXT could be the right environment for Brock’s continued development.
Evaluating the Timing and Readiness
Arn Anderson’s thoughtful approach to his son’s career is evident in his comments on the podcast. He believes that while WWE NXT might eventually be a beneficial step, it’s not yet the right time to make that move. “It’s probably not time yet to even consider that, but yes, of course,” Arn remarked. He emphasized the importance of ensuring Brock is well-prepared before stepping into such a significant developmental platform. “It’s also good to go in the door with all your fundamentals in line, your reps. It’s best if you can get a little ring shape in when you walk in the door, other than just [being] an athlete from a different sport walking in.”
Arn’s focus is on honing Brock’s mechanics and expanding his thought process, ensuring that he is fully equipped for the challenges and opportunities that come with a major promotion. “So that’s what we’re trying to do, is just hone his mechanics and expand his thought process. He’ll be somewhere soon. There’s no hurry. It’s not like rush, rush, rush, [we have to] get you a spot at one of the major promotions. It’s just making sure you do things right on the way up. That’s what we’re looking at.”
Brock Anderson’s Journey So Far
Brock Anderson, while still relatively new to the professional wrestling scene, has already made significant strides. His two-year tenure with AEW saw him team up frequently with Lee Johnson and eventually transition into more singles competition. Notably, Brock competed for the TNT Championship against Luchasaurus in August 2023, showcasing his potential as a future star. Despite his growing presence, AEW chose not to renew his contract in October 2023, prompting Brock to explore other opportunities.
Looking Ahead
Arn Anderson’s strategic approach for Brock’s career underscores the importance of preparation and gradual growth. By ensuring Brock gains valuable experience and refines his skills in independent wrestling circuits, Arn aims to position his son as a well-rounded and ready performer when the time comes to join a major promotion like WWE NXT.
For now, the focus remains on steady improvement and readiness. Arn’s philosophy is clear: success in professional wrestling is a marathon, not a sprint. This meticulous approach is designed to set Brock up for a sustainable and successful career in the industry.
