WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has recently weighed in on the potential reunion of The Hurt Business, the popular wrestling faction led by Bobby Lashley and MVP. As both Lashley and MVP’s contracts with WWE approach expiration, speculation has intensified regarding their next move. On his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T shared his thoughts on why he believes TNA would be the ideal destination for The Hurt Business, rather than AEW or NJPW.
Why TNA is the Right Fit for The Hurt Business
Booker T’s reasoning for wanting to see The Hurt Business in TNA centers around the unique strengths and dynamics of the group. He explained that while NJPW offers intense in-ring competition, it doesn’t necessarily play to the promotional and showmanship strengths of a faction like The Hurt Business.
“Going over to Japan, you’re just going to be working; it ain’t about your promo skills, it ain’t about how really good you look as a group or anything like that,” Booker T noted. “With The Hurt Business, they’re not going to go over there and woo you with their matches. They’re more…I mean, of course, Bobby’s going to look good, of course, Shelton, he’s going to look good, MVP is going to, you know, be the front man. But as far as being able to go out there and, you know, really cut the promos and really put a spotlight on that thing from a showmanship perspective, that’s not going to happen in Japan. I think it could happen in TNA, it can happen in AEW.”
Concerns About Joining AEW
A recent report has suggested that a reunion of The Hurt Business, potentially featuring Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin, could be on the cards in AEW. However, Booker T is hesitant about this possibility, expressing concerns that the faction might not receive the attention and spotlight they deserve due to AEW’s already crowded roster.
“In AEW, it’s just so many guys, they could get lost in the shuffle there. How much play would we see from The Hurt Business? What kind of, you know, angles would they be in that could really highlight a group like that?” Booker T questioned.
The Potential Impact in TNA
Booker T believes that TNA would allow The Hurt Business to shine, giving them the platform to leverage their charisma, promo skills, and storytelling abilities. In TNA, the faction could potentially take center stage, engage in compelling storylines, and bring a level of showmanship that might not be possible in other promotions.
The veteran wrestling icon’s insights into the situation underscore the importance of aligning a faction’s strengths with the right promotional environment. For The Hurt Business, TNA might offer the perfect combination of opportunities to excel both in the ring and on the microphone.
Stephen’s Insight
As fans and industry insiders eagerly anticipate the next move for The Hurt Business, Booker T’s comments add an interesting dimension to the ongoing speculation. Whether they ultimately choose TNA, AEW, or another promotion, the prospect of a reunion holds the potential to make waves in the wrestling world. For now, the wrestling community watches and waits to see where this dynamic group will land next.
