Deiondra Sanders Bursts Out in Anger Over Fake Controversy Around Unborn Baby’s Last Name
Since it is confirmed that Deiondra Sanders and Jacques “Que” Broadnax’s firstborn will be a boy, fans are eagerly anticipating the birth and speculating about his name—particularly his last name. With the due date set for September 6th, Deiondra is busy preparing for her baby shower while also deciding on their baby’s name. While the first name is still undecided, it appears the couple has already agreed on their baby’s last name.
On May 25, Deiondra, committed to updating her followers on every aspect of her pregnancy, took to social media platform X to clarify her stance. She wrote, “What I SAID was my last name will be going in our child’s name because I am not married and still use my last name.” She further added that her son will also take her beau Que’s last name, acknowledging that he “has worked very hard for his own legacy.” However, it looks like some people misinterpreted Deiondra’s message, sparking her frustration.
As Deiondra revealed the naming plan for their unborn baby, a celebrity-athlete gossip page named Say Cheese posted a rumor-laden tweet, writing, “Deiondra Sanders says her son will carry her last name instead of Jacques’ because they are not married,” completely misrepresenting the actual fact. The tweet quickly went viral within the social media community and was eventually brought to Deiondra’s attention.
I didn’t say that. Get your facts straight.

Swift in her response, Deiondra shut down the misinterpreted meaning of her tweet, and commented under the post, “I didn’t say that. Get your facts straight.” Needless to say, Deion Sanders’ daughter’s pregnancy announcement in March came with an extensive Instagram post declaring she is not having the child “to keep a man,” but for the all the times she was told she wouldn’t be able to conceive. Therefore, the upcoming baby is as important to Deiondra as it is to the R&B singer, making it only justified for the baby to have her last name as well.
So, what will be the last name of Deiondra’s baby? As per Deiondra’s revelation, their son’s last name would sound something like “Sanders Broadnax” or “Broadnax Sanders.” Nevertheless, Jacques is more than excited as he finally gets his much-anticipated “boy” as his firstborn.
Jacques, like most fathers, expressed that he would like the child to be named after him if it was a boy. However, Deiondra isn’t ready to settle for a name that ends with a “Jr.” She said in a video, “I’m not agreeing to that. I’m sorry. It technically can’t be a Jr.” Despite Jacques’ insistence, Deiondra was equally adamant, stating, “But Sanders Broadnax is not a Jr… [So] that’s not happening because I’m not married. So my last name is going as well.”
Given the significance of this “miracle” pregnancy for Deiondra, the couple is navigating this personal matter under public scrutiny. However, as fans, we can only wish the best for them in their upcoming journey and pray that their baby comes out healthy and sound.
