Prince Harry’s close friend, Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, is getting married in four days. He sent a mysterious message to his friend after the friend turned down an invitation.
The most important wedding of the season will happen at Chester Cathedral on June 7. Prince Harry will not be there, even though he used to be very close with the groom.
Grosvenor is going to marry Olivia Henson in front of 400 people, and Prince William is said to be taking part as an usher.
A Secret Message
The Duke of Westminster talked about getting “support” from some people before the wedding while he was there. This has made some people wonder if he is making a subtle dig at Prince Harry.
To Town & Country, he said, “I think the next time we’re in here will be a little more nerve-wracking, but I’m so excited.” I just wanted to make it clear how grateful I am for how wonderfully helpful and encouraging people have been so far.
“I am aware that it will be a big deal for the city.” We’re thankful for all the help because it’s going to be a big deal for us.
A close friendship
Grosvenor and Prince Harry used to be very close. They went to Africa together and celebrated each other’s birthdays. Grosvenor is even the godfather of Prince Archie, Prince Harry’s son.
A source had told The Daily Express, “Harry and Hugh were much closer when they were kids.” Hugh was a little boy when William was in his late teens or early 20s. That’s why everything here has come as such a surprise.”
The Sunday Times says that Grosvenor wanted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to be at the wedding, but they said no because they didn’t want it to be overshadowed.
Keeping relationships in check
A person told the news outlet, “Hugh is one of William and Harry’s few close friends who have kept strong ties and a way to talk to both of them.”
“He wishes they could repair their relationship, but knows it’s not likely to happen before the wedding.” He didn’t want anything to ruin the day, especially for Olivia, and he didn’t want anything awkward to happen.
Another person Grosvenor is close to is the Royal Family. He is the uncle of Prince George and Prince Archie and the godson of King Charles.
Getting ready for the wedding
Due to his huge £10 billion net worth, he was once called the most desirable man in Britain. He will now be moving in with Henson at their farm in Cheshire.
“It means a lot to the couple to be getting married at Chester Cathedral; it’s where they will raise their family,” said a friend of the pair.
They’re trying to include local and area providers in a lot of different parts of their day. The happy couple is very thankful for all the support and blessings they’ve gotten, especially from people in the area.
