Earlier this year, Jinder Mahal drew significant attention when he competed for the WWE World Heavyweight Title on RAW. Despite the high-profile opportunity, Mahal was unable to secure the championship and was subsequently released from WWE. Now, Mahal has addressed claims that WWE “dropped the ball” with him, providing insights into his career and future plans.
Jinder Mahal, who now goes by the name Raj Deshi in his post-WWE career, shared his thoughts on a TikTok video reacting to a fan’s comment about WWE mishandling his career. Mahal explained that his 12-year tenure in WWE was filled with achievements and valuable experiences. He emphasized that he traveled the world, made lasting connections, and won major titles, including the WWE Championship and the United States Championship at WrestleMania. Additionally, Mahal highlighted that his career with WWE provided him with financial independence and set him up for a promising future.
“So I see this comment a lot and I wanna kinda share my opinion on it. ‘WWE dropped the ball on me’ – I would say that’s not true,” Mahal began.
Mahal elaborated on his perspective, stating, “Had a very long career, 12 years in WWE. WWE Champion, won the United States Championship at WrestleMania, made a great living, really set myself up for the future, for the rest of my life. Given me a sense of financial independence where now I can just do whatever I wanna do. Freedom, flexibility, got to travel the world, build amazing relationships, a lot of good memories. And it’s gonna continue now on the independents, just doing things my way.”
He concluded by expressing his gratitude for his WWE career and the support of his fans: “So WWE did not drop the ball, I had a great career, a great time, and, yeah, thank you for all the fans tuning in for all these years.”
Mahal’s next move came as a surprise when he made an appearance at the recent GCW High event. There, he took out Effy and announced his ‘Unhindered’ tour, marking the beginning of his journey on the independent circuit. Despite his release from WWE, Mahal remains optimistic and grateful for the opportunities he had, looking forward to continuing his wrestling career on his terms.
Jinder Mahal’s reflections offer a positive outlook on his time in WWE and his future endeavors. His comments underscore the significance of his accomplishments and the strong foundation WWE provided him for his ongoing career in professional wrestling.
