Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may soon include their kids, Prince Archie Harrison, five, and Princess Lilibet Diana, three, in their public activities. This is a surprising turn of events. As royal expert Tom Quinn has suggested, this change could be a big break from their previous promise to keep their kids’ private lives private.

Since they stopped being royal, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have kept their kids out of public view most of the time. Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie have only been seen a few times, mostly in the couple’s Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan.” The Sussexes have been adamant about protecting their children’s privacy, even during these short times in the spotlight. Quinn thinks that this approach might change, though.
When talking to The Mirror, Quinn said that Harry and Meghan’s growing desire to become more well-known and influential might lead them to include their kids in their activities more often. “Harry and Meghan are very proud of their children,” Quinn said. “When they are a little older and better able to travel, there is no doubt that they will be taken on some of the couple’s tours.” Putting on a show of a “charming royal family” could get the Sussexes the attention and press they want to improve their image.
Plans for future trips and public appearances
During their recent three-day trip to Nigeria, Harry made hints that they might want to travel more in the future, pointing out that working from home or over Zoom has its limits. He stressed how important it was for them to meet people in person to do more good. “You can only do so much from home and over Zoom.” Thus, we are excited to take more trips…He said, “There will always be reasons to meet the people who are important to our work.”
Archie and Lilibet did not go on this trip with their parents, but it is still possible that they will come with them on future visits. This possible change fits with the Sussexes’ changing plan to improve their public image and make their projects more visible.
Meghan’s New Business Plans
Along with their plans to spend more time with the public, Meghan Markle is preparing to start her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. The brand was first announced by Instagram in March in a surprise post. Details about its actual launch have not been made public yet, so it remains a secret.
Meghan has to make important choices about how to place the brand in the market. Should it aim for a large group of people or a small group of high-end customers? Lucie Green, a brand manager, pointed out the fine line Meghan must walk: “It will be hard to decide whether to make the brand more accessible or very expensive and hard to get and hold.” People will always criticize how much (even vaguely) she references royalty, but turning that up will probably appeal to many US audiences, just like Aerin Lauder and Martha Stewart do with their brands, which have large audiences.

Meghan will have to figure out how to use her royal ties to her advantage without crossing lines or getting too much criticism. Referring to her royal background could make the brand more appealing in the US, but it could also lead to backlash, especially from people who think the brand is taking advantage of her former royal position.
Meghan’s move into the fashion industry shows that she wants to make a name for herself and leave a legacy that isn’t tied to her royal family. To make sure the brand stays true to itself and connects with her target audience, she will need to be very smart and have a clear picture of where she wants to go.
