Sashi Brown, President of the Baltimore Ravens, has expressed keen interest in Baltimore hosting an upcoming NFL Draft, citing the city’s appeal as a potential venue for the prestigious event.
During the NFL league meetings in Orlando, Brown revealed that discussions have commenced with the NFL regarding Baltimore’s candidacy as a Draft host city. While Detroit is set to host the draft in April and Green Bay in 2025, Brown is eager to see Baltimore added to the rotation.
“We’ve initiated conversations with the NFL,” Brown stated. “The NFL Draft has evolved into a significant event for the league, garnering interest from numerous cities. We firmly believe that Baltimore would be an excellent location for the Draft. We’re also engaged with stakeholders involved in the development of the Inner Harbor. While convincing the NFL is essential, we’re committed to exerting pressure on ourselves to pursue hosting rights for Baltimore in the near future.”
Regarding Baltimore’s 2024 schedule, Brown admitted to receiving no advanced indications from the league. However, he anticipates the Ravens featuring prominently in prime-time matchups, especially considering the team’s recent successes.
“With Lamar Jackson coming off his second MVP season and our status as the No. 1 seed in the postseason, we’re an exciting team poised for another strong campaign,” Brown noted. “Having bolstered our roster with additions like Derrick Henry and retaining key players such as Justin Madubuike, we’re confident that our performance will be duly recognized by the schedulers. We hope to showcase some of these prime-time games at home in front of our passionate fan base.”
Additionally, Brown touched on other topics during the meetings:
- Uniform Changes: While discussions have occurred regarding potential alterations to the Ravens’ alternate uniforms, no final decisions have been made. Brown emphasized the team’s cautious approach, acknowledging the success of their current uniform design while exploring options for alternative jerseys.

- International Games: Brown expressed doubt regarding the Ravens’ participation in an international game this season, following their trip to London in 2023. Despite the positive experience, Brown highlighted the logistical challenges of overseas travel and emphasized the team’s readiness for any future international opportunities.
As discussions with the NFL progress and plans for the upcoming season take shape, Brown remains optimistic about Baltimore’s potential to host the NFL Draft, showcasing the city’s rich football culture and vibrant community spirit.
