Combat Fluctuations
Last year was a watershed movement for ‘Next Gen’. He suffered the first knockout loss of his professional career to Liam Smith in January. But eight months later, roping in the expert services of Crawford’s long-time trainer, ‘Bomac’ McIntyre, Chris Eubank Jr. returned the favor to ‘Beefy’. However, he has yet to step into the ring ever since.

Months following the Smith rematch saw the resumption of talks for a fight with archrival Conor Benn. The two were slated for a major clash back in October 2022. However, the fight faced postponement, followed by an eventual cancellation on account of Benn failing to clear two voluntary drug tests. The fate of their much-anticipated clash hung in the balance. Hence, hopes were restored when the discussion picked up once again. But the negotiations unfortunately caved in as both parties reportedly couldn’t agree.
Amidst talks of his now erstwhile promoters pitching for a Canelo Alvarez fight, rumors of a ‘summer clash’ with Terence Crawford also gained strength.
