The new WWE signing could still compete elsewhere
In a surprising twist that could reshape the landscape of professional wrestling, new WWE star Giulia could still grace the ring after the company announced it on July 30. Giulia is set to wrestle her final match in Japan on August 18 before making the long-awaited transition back to WWE.
This development adds an interesting layer to Giulia’s move to WWE. The 25-year-old grappler, who first caught WWE’s attention in April when he was introduced to fans at NXT Stand and Deliver, has since become a mainstay in the wrestling world and his appearance at WrestleMania 40 for two nights throughout the 19th century greatly strengthened him as a key player in the work.
Despite her new relationship with WWE, Giulia’s commitment to wrestling in Japan is far from over. He became an integral part of Marigold, the development founded by former Stardom boss Rossi Ogawa. Giulia’s association with stardom began in 2019, where she quickly rose to fame before transitioning to Marigold. His dedication to Marigold reflects a rare commitment to multiple wrestling worlds simultaneously.
The announcement that Giulia will wrestle her final match in Japan raises intriguing questions about her future in WWE. Wrestling insiders are abuzz with speculation, particularly Dave Meltzer, who shared insights on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer suggested that WWE might allow Giulia to return to Marigold for select events, similar to the arrangement made for IYO SKY. “My impression is they’ll allow her to go back for big shows like IYO SKY did on the last Sumo Hall show,” Meltzer noted. “Marigold is looking at the idea of four big shows a year, so I think that maybe WWE would allow her to go back for two, three, four shows a year, something like that. That’s a part of their working together relationship thing.”
This potential change in Giulia’s contract highlights WWE’s increasingly international talent management approach. By allowing Giulia to participate in important Japanese events, WWE is not only honoring her established career but also introducing her to a global fan base that follows her career in Japan also
As Giulia prepares for her NXT debut, she will be joined by other prominent wrestlers, including Stephanie Wacker and Delta. This new upcoming talent is sure to bring new energy to NXT, promising exciting growth for fans and active growth in WWE
The dual commitments could lead to a fascinating interplay between her roles in WWE and Japan, offering fans the best of both worlds. Giulia’s journey exemplifies a broader trend in wrestling where traditional boundaries are increasingly blurred, allowing wrestlers to explore opportunities across different promotions while maintaining their global appeal.
