The Jacksonville Jaguars General Manager Trent Baalke talks about the current state of the negotiations with quarterback Trevor Lawrence concerning his future extension contract.
After what has been a busier offseason for the Jacksonville Jaguars with the acquisition of rookie quarterback Mac Jones and signing wide receiver Trevor Lawrence to a three-year extension, it will be now focusing on securing Lawrence’s future. Baalke said he has talked with Trevor’s agency about it and will take some time to sign the extension.
Processes take time, and one should be patient, and stage in any negotiation is the most critical. Both Trevor and the Jaguars’ front office have to agree with the terms and conditions reached.
Lawrence had an impressive performance in his second NFL season, which awarded him a Pro Bowl nod and helped the Jaguars’ first playoff appearance since 2017 . However, Baalke reiterated the need for cautiousness during the contract extension .
